Marching Band Wins at Region 1, A Class Championship

The Winslow Township High School Marching Band had a very eventful weekend including the recognition of their seniors at the final home football game of the regular season, in addition to their first of three championships. 

On Friday, October 22, 2021, the marching band recognized their twelve seniors before the Varsity football team’s game against Holy Spirit High School. The band’s class of 2022 seniors include Fawaz Busari, Anthony Bombara, Tyler Esposito, Manasia Murdock Brown, Naomi Ibidapo, Kimorah Rogan, Gene Embert, Jordan Jamieson, Jalen Mitchell, Gavin Sherzer, Emily Evringham, and Olivia Reinert. Congratulations seniors!

On Sunday, October 24, 2021, the award winning marching band competed at the Region 1, A class championships at Kingsway Regional High School. The band placed first with a score of 91.65. Not only has the band maintained their undefeated record, but they have now earned the title of Region 1 A class champions for the third time in Winslow Township marching band history as well as earned their highest score of the season. The link found below is the video of the band’s championship performance. The only previous times the band has accomplished this title were in the 2016 and 2017 fall seasons. The band has their State Championship Competition at Cherokee High School this Saturday, October 30, 2021 followed by their Atlantic Coast Championship Competition on Sunday, October 31, 2021 at Central Dauphin High School. 

An honorable mention also goes out to senior Olivia Reinert who won the group 1A scholarship for Region 1. Olivia was awarded the amount of $500.00 to put towards furthering her education in college or university.
