Q: Do you feel better since you’ve stepped down from head coach, or did you like how it was during last season?
A: “I feel a lot better now! It’s less paperwork and less administrative stuff. All I have to do is show up and practice, which is what I like.”
Q: Do you think the girls have improved from last year?
A: “We lost a lot of key players last year so we have a lot of young players this year, hopefully we can improve on where we are right now.”
Q: Other than the previous years as head and assistant coach, what is your experience with softball and/or baseball?
A: “I played baseball all throughout my youth and I also coached baseball for one year here. I coached a little league when my sons were little so I have some experience.”
Q: How do you think the team is going to do during this season?
A: “I’m hopeful we will do well and hopefully we can beat expectations.”
Q: What is your favorite thing about coaching?
A: “I get to joke around with the kids all day and it’s just a really good time. I like the sport and I like the athletes, it’s a nice bunch of good kids.”

Q: How do you feel about the WTHS Girls Softball team now that you’ve been head coach for a week?
A: “I think we have a lot of energy…. It’s nice to come out here and have some fun and teach you guys the basics, build that passion.”
Q: Is there anything you’re hoping to do before the end of the season; a goal?
A: “Just to teach you guys the mechanics, and then next year when you guys come out here, y’know, we can just continue to build up and become a competitive program.”
Q: Did you play when you were younger? What position and what was your opinion on it then?
A: “I did, I played center field, I love centerfield and I also caught for a bit, not as fun.”
Q: What are your core values as a coach?
A: “Respect, that’s just nonnegotiable. Respect everyone, coaches, staff, officials. Growth mindset, absolutely, you should come out here everyday trying to grow as an individual, whether that’s as an athlete or as a person. Teamwork.”
Q: What made you want to coach?
A: “I played sports all of my life, it’s something that I’ve always continued wanting to do, and there’s only really a few options, especially for women to continue sports, and that’s either coaching or going to the next level, which is unfortunately not available for [me]. I’ve had some pretty good coaches, and just… wanting to contribute to them.”
