Winslow Township High School is bringing to the stage: Mamma Mia! The story begins on a small island, with one of the main characters named Sophie. Sophie’s quest is to find who her father is before her upcoming wedding, and she undergoes fun activities, and even meets new people in the process. With hyper songs, and plenty of hoodwinking moments, this energetic performance is sure to bring in guests to entertain.
The casting process for this began late December, and it was truly a momentous occasion. This is a big play, and since it is a musical, it was almost challenging to find people who actually fit the role. We need people who can sing, dance, and act. Thankfully, Ms. Heffner and Ms. Mulligan did a great job. With Ms. Heffner in charge of casting and Ms. Mulligan being head of the vocals, they each outdid themselves with their picks.
The stage crew has also been hard working. Over the past several weeks, our crew and stage advisor Ms. Shaw, who meets Tuesdays and Thursdays, dedicated our time from 2:30 to 5 to build the set for Mamma Mia. From constructing the beach outside area and painting the entire stage, this crew has put in much effort to bring the musical to life. The process has been time-consuming clearly, from painting, cutting wood, and assembling large pieces for the set, it’s almost perfect! The crew is pretty much done, thanks to everyone’s help. Just a few more finishing touches, and we will be ready!
It occurs on March 27th, 28th, and 29th, at the Winslow Township High School Auditorium. Be sure to come support our musical!
