Previously, Iceland declared a state of emergency amid immediate evacuations and the pending threat of a volcanic eruption. Approximately 3,200 residents were forced to evacuate the coastal town of Grindavik.

This turmoil has remained on the mainstream news ever since the worrisome increase of seismic activity and the consistency of minor earthquakes in the region signaling the possiblity of imminent eruption.

Earthquakes have an continue to swarm the region according to the Icelandic Meterological Office reports, and have been identified opening large magma filled tunnels all the way to the town of Grindavik.

To determine this possbility of eruption, it must be determined if the magma below will actually surface, and so as a formidable response the Icelandic Civil Protection Agency issued the evacuations in order to properly respond and react to future circumstances.
