Christal is a senior at Winslow Township High School. As graduation approaches, she will reflect on her time at Winslow Township High School, as well as what’s in store for the future.
Introduction:
Q: What is something most people wouldn’t know about you?
A: When I’m having trouble sleeping, I flip my orientation in bed so my feet are at my pillow and my head is at the end of the bed. The change in perspective helps me relax.
Q: Describe yourself in three words.
A: persistent, hardworking, really-bad-procrastinator
Q: What are three words that you think your friends would use to describe you?
A: kind, loyal, humble
Q: If you were an animal, what animal would you be and why?
A: I would be a cat because I’m nearly always tired and would be able to chill out.
Q: What’s your favorite movie or book, and why?
A: My favorite movie changes very frequently but right now it’s “Spirited Away”. The animation, visuals, and music are amazing, and the movie touches on many different themes.
Q: Favorite song at the moment, or of all time (your choice).
A: I really like “Selfless” by the Strokes currently.
Q: If you could have dinner with anyone, living or dead, who would it be and why?
A: I would have dinner with Stuart Lehman Brown. He makes silly guitar tutorials on TikTok and youtube, and is just a really cool person.
High school experience:
Q: Are you involved in any sports/extracurriculars, and if so which?:
A: I’m in Leo Club, NHS, SHS, Key Club, and Renaissance Club. I’ve also been a member of Mu Alpha Theta and MUN.
Q: How do you think these experiences have shaped you?
A: They definitely made me more open to trying new things!
Q: What is your favorite high school memory?
A: School trips!
Q: What did you find the most challenging about high school?
A: Making friends, especially since I transferred from another school.
Q: What was your favorite class you have taken?
A: AP Physics 1
Q: What does your study routine look like?
A: Watching videos, reading textbooks, and doing practice problems.
Q: Is junior year really as hard as everyone says?
A: Yes, but I found dealing with college apps and classes even harder so be proactive!
Senior year:
Q: How would you describe your senior year in three words?
A: Bittersweet, Exciting, Fun
Q: What’s your senior quote?
A: “Why not try it all if you only remember it once”—Strokes. I chose it because I think it’s really important to experience as many new things as possible, even though you may not stick to them.
Q: What do you think is most different from your senior self versus your freshman self?
A: I’m definitely more outgoing now, even though I’m still really shy.
Future/reflection:
Q: If you could do anything different during your high school years what would it be and why?
A: I would join and stick to more clubs/activities. Maybe even play some sports.
Q: What advice would you give to lower-classmen?
A: Learn proper time management!! And adopt a growth mindset.
Q: Are you planning to go to college and if so what are you planning to major in?
A: I’m planning on going to college and majoring in neuroscience.
Q: Where do you see yourself in five or ten years?
A: In ten years from now, I’ll be out of medical school and finally in my internship year, hopefully in anesthesiology
