“A Girl named Ivy” by teen author Ali Marie was published in 2021. This is the authors debut novel that she self published at just thirteen years old. This book is a clean going adult mystery novel, perfect for fans who love suspense and uncovering the mystery at the end. “A Girl named Ivy” follows Ivy as she wakes up from a coma and has no melody of anything, though she is completely unharmed. She goes home with a foster family after believing to be fifteen years old, and she’s on a mission to find her real family.Â
While she’s there though, she also goes to school. She struggles to come up with a backstory, as she doesn’t know her family or remember any of her hobbies. She gets along with Connor, who’s the son of the couple who are fostering her. She also makes two good friends, Kat and Theo. At the end, of course, the mystery is uncovered and Ivy got her happily ever after.Â
Overall, I would recommend this book to anyone who loves mystery and loves supporting small indie authors like Ali Marie.
