[RECAP]: Girls Basketball results against Cherokee, Bishop Eustace, and Shawnee . . .

Week 1 results are in! Winslow puts up a fight against some of it’s toughest opponents in the season openers, and it’s looking very bright for the reinforcing team in the near future.

Week 1 of basketball kicks off as an away game at Cherokee H.S. Game Leaders such as Labreya Lewis (#1) and Aiyonna Alexander (#0), with Lewis putting up 15 points followed by 5 rebounds, and Alexander trailing behind with 13 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 blocks, and 3 turnovers. Together combining more a than half of Winslow’s points (37) that game. With these major contributions and very intense game, Winslow falls short to Cherokee (37-53).

 

Winslow brings the heat during Game 2 against Bishop Eustace Tuesday afternoon, but yet again falls short (44-52). Alexander remains as one of the Game Leaders and concludes the game with a dramatic adjustment of 21 points (other stats not available). Followed by Lewis (11 points), Gale (4 points), and Clemmons (8 points).

 

Finally to conclude the first lively week of basketball for the girls, Winslow brings Shawnee to their first home game  which unfortunately ends in another loss. Alexander and Lewis combine for a total of 27 points, followed by the rest of the team to conclude with 34 points to Shawnee’s 42.
